Turbo Pumped Carbon Coater and Thermal Evaporator – DCT-T-300

The DCT-T-300 turbo pumped carbon coater and thermal evaporator has a spacious chamber, making it a strong choice for preparing samples for FE-SEM, EDS/WDS, TEM, and EBSD analysis, as well as thin film applications. It runs under high vacuum to deposit uniform carbon and metal films with fine grain sizes, which suits specimens that need high-resolution, high-quality characterization.

The system's cylindrical chamber measures 300 mm in diameter. It supports extended deposition runs on samples up to 15 cm across, or on several small specimens at once. A fully automatic, programmable carbon coating routine keeps results simple, precise, and repeatable.

The coater can also thermally evaporate low-melting-point materials in either direction, upward or downward. Because the distance between the thermal source and the substrate is adjustable, it adapts easily to different coating setups.

Applications

The DCT-T-300 deposits carbon films for SEM, FE-SEM, EDX, and TEM sample preparation and can also produce conductive layers. Users may optionally run plasma treatment on TEM grids to improve hydrophilicity. The thermal source holder also makes it possible to clean TEM apertures.

  • SEM & FE-SEM Sample Preparation – Applies uniform carbon coatings for high-resolution imaging and accurate microstructural analysis.
  • EDS/WDS Elemental Analysis – Creates fine-grain conductive films that improve X-ray microanalysis performance.
  • TEM & EBSD Studies – Delivers ultra-thin, uniform coatings that support crystallographic work and transmission electron microscopy.
  • Thin Film Deposition – Thermally evaporates low-melting-point metals in upward or downward directions to meet varied coating needs.
  • TEM Grid Treatment – Provides plasma treatment of TEM grids to increase hydrophilicity and improve imaging quality.
  • Aperture Cleaning – Cleans TEM apertures with the integrated thermal source holder, helping extend instrument lifespan and usability.
