Textile Baler | Clothing Baler Machine | ToronBale™ TXT
Need to turn loose used clothing, wool, cotton, or fabric scrap into tight, transportable blocks? The ToronBale™ TXT textile baler from Torontech is built for that job. It comes in five versions, with 30 to 150 tons of pressing force, finished bales of 40 to 400 kg, and a machine weight between 1,800 and 6,000 kg. Fabric is light but stubborn. It takes much more force to pack down than its weight would suggest, so the biggest ToronBale™ TXT models match the tonnage of presses made for scrap metal.
The feature that separates this clothing baler from a generic baling press is its hydraulic lifting chamber. There is no side door to swing open. The whole chamber lifts up and away from the compressed bale, leaving every side exposed. Staff can run straps around the bale in both directions and slide a bag over it while the fabric is still held in place. This matters because textile bales push outward on all sides, and a strap on one axis alone will not contain them.
When choosing a size, think about how dense you need the bale to be, not only how large it is. The 120 ton model squeezes fabric into a smaller 800 by 450 mm bale at very high pressure, a good match for exporters who pay by the cubic metre of container space. The 150 ton model is the pick for high-throughput sites, producing bales up to 400 kg. Used-clothing sorters, wool processors, and textile recyclers all run ToronBale™ TXT machines in every one of the five sizes.
Where the ToronBale™ TXT Textile Baling Machine Is Used
Any business that gathers, grades, or processes soft fabric in volume can put this baler to work.
- Used Clothing Exporters: packs graded garments into dense, bagged bales that fit container loads bound for overseas buyers
- Charities and Thrift Shops: turns unsold donations and leftover stock into bales that graders and recyclers will buy
- Textile Recyclers: shrinks mixed fabric waste so it takes up far less floor and warehouse space
- Wool Processors: packs raw (greasy) or scoured wool into bales ready to ship to mills
- Cotton Gins and Processors: compresses cotton lint and comber waste into saleable units
- Garment Factories: handles cutting-table scraps and rejected pieces left over from production
- Wiping Cloth and Rag Makers: forms graded rags into consistent bales for resale
- Laundries and Linen Suppliers: packs worn-out sheets, towels, and uniforms once they leave service
- Bedding and Quilt Makers: takes in stuffing waste, quilt trimmings, and returned soft products

Safety and Standards
At present, Torontech has not published any standards compliance for the ToronBale™ TXT. Safety features in the design include a feed-gate interlock, which stops the platen from moving downward whenever the loading gate is opened, and a separate emergency stop positioned apart from the main control panel. If your region requires particular safety certificates, markings, or paperwork, ask Torontech before placing an order. Documentation depends on the destination market and the machine configuration.
Key Features of the Textile Baler
Two challenges define textile baling: generating enough force to compress fabric, and keeping the finished bale from springing back open. The ToronBale™ TXT addresses both.
- Hydraulic Lifting Chamber: the chamber lifts straight up off the pressed bale rather than opening a single door, so all four faces can be tied and bagged while the fabric is still compressed
- Cross-Tie Access: with the full perimeter reachable, operators can strap in two directions, which stops the bursting that single-direction straps allow
- Built-In Bagging: a protective bag can be pulled over the bale during the same step, so export stock arrives clean and dry
- 30 to 150 Tons of Force: five ratings let a small thrift operation and a large export plant each choose the right size without paying for unused capacity
- High-Density 120 Ton Model: puts its force on a compact 800 by 450 mm bale face, giving the tight bales that make container freight cheaper per kilo
- Feed Gate Ram Interlock: the platen stops descending the instant the loading gate opens, keeping hands out of the pressing area
- Separate Emergency Stop: a clearly visible, dedicated circuit shuts down hydraulic power independently of the main controls
- Reinforced Ram Guides: hold the platen level even when fabric is stacked unevenly, shielding the cylinder seals from sideways stress
- Automatic Load Balancing: shares pressing force across the full platen, so an off-center load does not jolt or shift during the stroke
- Direct-Coupled Motor and Pump: a cross-connected direct drive keeps the motor and pump perfectly aligned, removing the need for a standard coupling and helping the pump last longer
- NOK Hydraulic Seals: seals sourced from Japan stretch the gap between maintenance visits and cut downtime for replacements
- A.M.C. Oil Pipe Joints: Japanese-made fittings keep hydraulic lines sealed despite heat cycles and constant vibration
- Adjustable Bale Height: every model lets you set bale height to meet a buyer’s spec or fit a particular container loading plan
How Textile Baling Works: The Science Behind the Design
Fabric does not compress in a straight line. A pile of loose textile is mostly trapped air, so the first part of the platen stroke is easy: air escapes and fibers shift into gaps. After the fibers are in contact all around, more compression means bending them against each other, and the pressure needed rises in step with roughly the cube of how tightly they are packed. This explains why the 120 and 150 ton machines exist, even though their bales weigh less than what a metal baler produces at 30 tons.
Once pressure is released, little keeps the bale compressed apart from friction. Bent fibers hold stored elastic energy and push back out the instant the platen eases off. Friction between fibers slows this recovery without stopping it, and a bale with no ties will swell within seconds. Metal such as crushed aluminum stays deformed because it passes its yield point. Fabric has no equivalent.
The answer is to restrain the bale while it is still under pressure, and this is exactly why the chamber lifts as one piece. While the platen keeps the charge pressed down, operators can reach every face, apply cross-pattern straps to counter expansion in both directions, and fit a bag at the same time. Ram guides keep the platen level through the whole stroke, because fabric rarely piles evenly and any sideways load would otherwise be transferred to the cylinder seals.
