Heavy-Duty Vertical Baler | ToronBale™ HV 150 & 200 Ton Baling Press
The ToronBale™ HV is a heavy-duty vertical baler built to compress natural fiber and light scrap metal at press forces standard recycling balers can’t deliver. Torontech offers it in 150-ton and 200-ton models, both built on a reinforced steel frame weighing 6,500 kg to 7,500 kg. One chamber handles coir, palm fiber, thin iron sheet, aluminum alloy offcuts, and copper wire, so a single baling press covers several scrap streams.
Bale Size and Output by Material
Both models form bales of 1,200 x 800 mm with adjustable height. Bale weight depends on what you load, since fiber and metal compress to very different densities:
- 150-ton ToronBale™ HV: 100 to 250 kg per bale for fiber, 450 to 550 kg per bale for metal
- 200-ton ToronBale™ HV: 150 to 300 kg per bale for fiber, 500 to 600 kg per bale for metal
Torontech lists separate figures for each material class so buyers can match baler capacity to their real scrap stream instead of relying on one headline number.
Dual-Door Access and Chain Ejection
The ToronBale™ HV opens at both the front and rear. Operators feed strapping straight through the chamber rather than working around a single access point, which makes tying faster and safer. A chain ejector then pushes the tied bale out with no manual handling.
Who Uses the ToronBale™ HV
Fiber processors, metal recyclers, and manufacturing plants rely on this vertical baling machine to turn bulky, low-value scrap into dense, saleable bales that cut storage space and transport costs.
Heavy-Duty Vertical Baler Applications | ToronBale™ HV for Metal and Fiber Recycling
The ToronBale™ HV vertical baling press suits operations that process fibrous material, light metal scrap, or both. Here are the industries that rely on it:
- Scrap Metal Recycling Yards: Bales thin iron sheet, tinplate, and light ferrous offcuts into dense units that lower transport cost per ton.
- Non-Ferrous Metal Processing: Compacts aluminum alloy scrap, copper wire, and brass turnings into bales ready for direct sale to smelters.
- Coir and Palm Fiber Processing: Presses coconut husk fiber and oil palm fiber into export-ready bales after drying and cleaning.
- Sheet Metal Fabrication and Stamping Plants: Consolidates blanking skeletons and press offcuts generated on the production floor.
- Cable and Wire Recycling: Bales stripped copper and aluminum conductor for onward refining.
- Natural Fiber and Textile Mills: Densifies jute, sisal, hemp, and waste fiber for easier storage and shipment.
- Aluminum Extrusion and Casting Plants: Compacts profile offcuts and runner scrap so it can return to the melt.
- Appliance and Automotive Dismantling: Bales light-gauge body panel and casing scrap recovered during teardown.

Heavy-Duty Vertical Baler Features | ToronBale™ HV 150 & 200 Ton Hydraulic Baling Press
The ToronBale™ HV pairs a high-tonnage hydraulic system with a dual-door chamber, safety interlocks, and Japanese-brand components, so the vertical baling press holds up under continuous industrial duty.
- 150 or 200 Ton Press Force: Delivers enough pressure to permanently deform light metal scrap instead of simply squeezing it.
- Separate Fiber and Metal Bale Ratings: Torontech lists bale weights for both material types on each model, so you can size the baler against your actual scrap mix.
- Front and Rear Opening Doors: Strapping feeds through the chamber from either side, saving tying time and avoiding the awkward reach of single-door balers.
- Automatic Chain Bale Ejector: Pushes the tied bale out of the chamber at the touch of a control, so operators never lift loads of up to 600 kg by hand.
- Feed Gate Ram Interlock: Halts the platen’s downward travel as soon as the loading gate opens, keeping hands out of the compaction zone.
- Independent Emergency Stop: A dedicated, clearly visible circuit shuts down hydraulic function separately from the main control system.
- Anti-Rebound Gate Structure: Designed to European and U.S. safety practice, it keeps compressed material in place and prevents uncontrolled door movement.
- Reinforced Ram Guides: Keep the platen face square when metal or fiber sits unevenly in the chamber, shielding cylinder seals from side loading.
- Automatic Load-Balancing Design: Spreads compaction force across the platen, so off-center loads don’t cause sudden shifts mid-stroke.
- Direct-Coupled Motor and Pump: A cross-connected direct drive keeps the motor and pump fully concentric, replacing standard couplings and extending pump life.
- NOK Hydraulic Seals: Japanese-sourced seals lengthen service intervals and cut seal replacement downtime.
- A.M.C. Oil Pipe Joints: Japanese-made fittings keep hydraulic connections leak-free through thermal cycling and vibration.
- Adjustable Bale Height (400 to 1,000 mm): Lets operators tune bale weight to container capacity or downstream handling limits.
- Heavy Structural Frame (6,500 kg and 7,500 kg): The solid build absorbs the reaction loads of repeated high-tonnage strokes.
Vertical Baler Theory and Method | How the ToronBale™ HV Compresses Metal and Fiber
The ToronBale™ HV heavy-duty vertical baler has to form dense bales from two materials that compact in very different ways. Understanding both mechanisms explains why press force, chamber design, and dwell time matter.
How Fiber and Metal Form a Bale
Fibrous material such as coir and palm fiber compacts elastically at first. As pressure builds, individual fibers bend, tangle, and lock against their neighbors, and this mechanical entanglement holds the bale’s shape. Metal behaves differently. Thin sheet, wire, and extrusion offcuts stay rigid until the applied stress passes the yield point. Past that point the metal deforms permanently and keeps its new shape without rebound.
Why Press Force Matters in a Metal Baling Press
Press force is what separates this machine from lighter balers. A 1,200 x 800 mm platen covers 0.96 square meters, so 150 tons of cylinder force delivers roughly 1.5 MPa across the bale face. That pressure exceeds the yield strength of aluminum foil stock and thin mild steel sheet, allowing the platen to fold and crush metal rather than simply pressing it. Fiber needs less pressure but more dwell time, because trapped air must escape before the mass can hold its density.
Chamber Design for Dense, Stable Bales
The chamber is built to support both compaction regimes:
- Anti-rebound dogs: Catch each compacted layer and stop fibrous material from springing back when the platen lifts, so density builds across successive strokes.
- Reinforced ram guides: Carry side loads and keep the platen square when scrap piles unevenly, which matters even more with rigid metal than with soft fiber.
- Automatic load balancing: Spreads compaction force across the platen when a charge sits off-center.
